DC vs SRH: Prediction- Dream11 and Playing XI

Published:

IPL is creeping towards its end. With just two matches left to play, it is do or die for all the three teams involved. Mumbai Indians have already reserved a place in the final with a resounding win over Delhi Capitals. Being 2nd at the League Table has its benefits, one that DC would now get to enjoy by getting another shot at the final. They now get to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad the winner of the eliminator. Let’s look at the form of these two teams and try to predict a good Dream11 team.

Delhi Capitals (LLLWL)

Delhi Capitals have found themselves in a really tight spot towards the end of the IPL 2020. With 5 losses in their last 6 games, form is certainly not on their side. A very poor middle order had already brought them to their knees, now an out of form bowling attack (Rabada) has fallen them flat. A 57 run defeat from Mumbai Indians have all but shattered DC’c confidence and it would take an incredible amount of resilience from them to hold back SRH’s incredible run to the final.

Predictable Playing XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmyer, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, R Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje

Sunrisers Hyderabad (WLWWWW)

SRH are on an incredible run since the past 5 games. They have won 5 of their last 6 games. It not only helped them get into the top 4 spots but could also see them entering the final after defeating Delhi Capitals. The addition of Holder has changed their whole game now that they have a wicket-taking allrounder in the middle. Rashid Khan has taken 6 wickets in the last 2 games proving that he is still the best spinner in the league for the past couple of years.

Williamson has also come to form with his resilient half-century against RCB. They have a real chance at the trophy this year.

Predicted Playing XI: David Warner, Shreevats Goswami/Wriddhiman Saha, Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Jason Holder, Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, Shabaz Nadeem, T Natarajan, Sandeep Sharma

Dream 11 Prediction

NOt selecting Warner would be a crime such is his form for the last 5 years. He has earned 818 points in the Dream 11 so far. The lowest point that he has earned this year was 11 in the first match. He has earned more than 50 points 9 times out of 15 games which speak volumes of his consistency in getting Dream 11 points. In the 4 matches that Saha has played so far, he has earned 45, 115, 49 and 99 points. He is in incredible form but was out of the last game due to injury. If he plays, he should be in your Dream11 team. Williamson has finally hit a half-century this year and looks set to take the team into the finals. Dhawan scored back to back centuries this year, something that has never been done before. He hasn’t capitalised on his form after that and earned 11, 2, 2, 72 and 10 points. He, however, is a batsman who could score good runs if DC bat first. Iyer looks to have been found out by the opposing team. He started the IPL on a very good form but has not improved upon it later on. He could be taken a chance on as well. Pandey has been included in the India tour of Australia later this month and has looked good since his selection. Expect a decent score from him too.

Holder has changed the whole complexion of the game for SRH. So far Hyderabad have not lost a single match that he has played in. His points in Dream 11 so far are 91, 59, 23, 87, 54 and 106. If SRH is on an incredible run, Holder is the biggest reason for it. Stoinis although not as consistent as Holder does his job well to get a decent point to Dream11 players. Axar Patel looked good in the last match but the match was already lost when he came to bat. If Delhi Capitals plays first he could be a good all-around option.

Rashid Khan should be among the first names on your teamsheet. Even if he doesn’t take wickets he would still get you 20 odd points with his economy and fielding. Rabada has lost his form in the last couple of matches. His drop in form run parallel to the fate of Delhi Capitals. He did not get any wickets in the last match which isn’t something an 805 points bowler should have to see. He, however, is still Rabada and could easily bounce back. Ashwin was immense in the last match. With 3 wickets he almost broke the backbone of Mumbai Indian but other bowlers could not capitalise on his performance and lost the game. Sandeep Sharma is emerging as a real threat towards the end of the IPL 2020. He seems to have regained his confidence and starts bowling for the SRH. Expect him to get a few wickets with his swing. In addition one of T Natarajan and Nadeem could be selected as well as they have done decently in the last game.

Captain/ Vice Captain

Warner and Dhawan should be the primary choices for Captain/ Vice-captain role as they are the ones who could score big runs given they open the innings. In bowling Rashid Khan, Rabada and Ashwin all three are a good choice for the role.

Holder is the best option for Captain/ Vice captain role as well since he is very consistent and performs with ball as well as bat.

Wildcard

The wildcard is someone who does not score many points in the Dream11 but has the potential to do so. The wildcard is the player who could potentially win you big money in Dream11.

A Samad and Garg are selected by very few people (2.01% and 4.22% respectively). These two batsmen have ample time to score a good score something that could give you an advantage among lakhs of Dream11 players.
