IPL 2020: Match 41 CSK vs MI – Dream 11 Prediction

Published:

39 matches have been played so far in the IPL 2020 and one thing that is almost certain is that Chennai Super Kings would not reach the semifinals. They have amassed a meagre total of 6 points after 10 games winning 3 and losing 7 matches. Statistically the best team in League stages, Chennai Super Kings have been totally outplayed by the opponents this year. They must now spend some time introspecting and come back stronger next year.

The 41st match in IPL 2020 will be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in Sharjah on 23 Oct 2020. Let us look at the strength and weaknesses of these two teams and try to predict a good Dream 11 team.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have been flying high after a couple of scares at the beginning. They have a well-settled playing 11, one that has won them 5 games on the trot before losing one in a 2 super-over-match against KXIP. Every player be it a batsman or a bowler has found their form in one match or the other and this team is among the most balanced in the league.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings used to challenge Mumbai Indias for the trophy but are nowhere close to them in the IPL 2020. Their bad luck started with their arrival in the UAE. Suresh Raina was reportedly not happy with the staying arrangements at the hotel which prompted him to leave UAE pushing the team into this ever-increasing misery. Chennai Super Kings have since then experienced a lack of solid middle order unable to chase any total put in front of them. A drop in form for Dhoni and Jadhav with a lack of youngsters in the team means CSK have no other option apart from building a proper team for the IPL 2021.

DJ Bravo has also left for his home country after its all but confirmed that there Semifinal hopes are done for.

Dream 11 Predictions

Rohit Sharma although not at his best is consistent enough to get decent points in Dream 11. De Cock and Du Plessis, the two South Africans have been immense for their respective teams in the IPL 2020. One gets the full support of their team whereas the other is left all on his own. Both these top-order batsmen are in an incredible form and are sure shot to get points as they are very good fielders as well. Ambati Rayudu although is not in as great a form as the IPL 2018, is playing decently and has been in the DreamTeam in last four matches. Sharjah will suit batsmen who are technically gifted. Small boundaries could easily be exploited by these batsmen a player of the ilk of Rohit Sharma should be given more emphasis while making a Dream 11 team.

Watson is another CSK player who is playing well at the moment. The whole of batting responsibility seems to have put on Du Plessis and Watson which is why CSK are not able to chase any targets this year. Suryakumar Yadav was looking like the best batsman of this tournament before his drop in form since a couple of games. However, that could just be a blip on his incredible run in this year’s IPL. Krunal Pandya is the best Pandya option at the moment as Hardik doesn’t bowl. He also gets very few balls to play, the lack of which is transparent in the points he has made so far. The small boundary also favours Pollard who would be salivating at the thought of hitting CSK bowlers out of the ground on the road.

Bumrah should be at the top of your wishing list if you want to win the Dream11. He has been among the best bowlers of this tournament not in terms of taking wickets but by choking the opposition. Sam Curran although is nowhere as good as Bumrah, has gotten more points than him. The sole reason being the fact that he is a decent batsman along with bowling his full quota of 4 overs. Deepak Chahar also should be included in your Dream 11 team as he is quite consistent with the bowl. In the 10 games that he has played so far, he has been included in the Dream Team 7 times. Boult and Pattinson (if he plays), should also be the first names on the Dream 11 team sheet as they get good points consistently. If Pattinson doesn’t play and Coulter Nile plays instead, he should be kept in the team as he’s calling Pattinson’s place in the Mumbai Indians teams as well.

Wild Card

Although Dhoni is going through a bad phase of form, he still has amassed similar points as Rohit Sharma in the points table. This is due to the fact that he makes 10-20 runs consistently along with dismissing batsmen while keeping. Tahir could get a game now that Bravo has left the team. Tahir was the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2019 so taking a chance of him would be an incredibly wise decision for anyone.

Always remember, winning the Dream 11 is influenced by game analysis but is also very largely affected by luck. For example, all signs point otherwise but Dhoni could still go on to make a 100 in today’s game, that is luck. One can only better their game analysis but cannot manage their luck. If it was manageable it wouldn’t be luck. Dream 11 players should only focus on the game analysis and stay away from Vashikaran and other scams of this kind.
