IPL 2020: Match 47 SRH vs DC – Dream 11 Prediction

Published:

IPL is heading towards completion with just 2-3 games left for each team to play. The 47th match is between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals. Delhi have all but booked a place in the Semifinals whereas SRH still have to fight it out with the likes of KKR, KXIP, and RR for a spot in the top 4. Here we look at the teams’ past performances and try to predict a good Dream 11 team.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (LLLWL)

SRH have had a very good start of the tournament but now seem to have lost their way when needed the most. They have won just 1 of their last 5 matches. WIth 8 points from 11 matches, they are now no better than Chennai Super Kings a team that is out of the tournament with one of the biggest declines in the IPL history. SRH’s last loss against KXIP was very poor in which they failed to chase a meager total of 126. Getting all out at 114 SRH would be looking to right the wrongs of the last match.

Delhi Capitals (LLWWL)

Delhi Capitals started the tournament on a front foot and have been there since then. They look like a team transformed by the great coaching of Ricky Ponting. No wonder they have occupied the top spot for the majority of this IPL. Similar to SRH, Delhi has also had a very poor last game. They could only manage 135/9 chasing a total of 194 set by KKR. There is no way they would be doing the same in this match. Both teams would be looking to steady the ship from the start which means there would not be a big score in this match but rather a cautious 150-170 score.

Dream 11 Prediction

Dhawan, Warner, Iyer, Williamson, and Pandey are too good batsmen to be left out of the team. They have been consistently getting good points which makes them a safe option to put into the Dream 11 team. Both teams have some very good options in the all-rounder department. A good mix of Stoinis, Holder, Patel, and Shankar should be kept in the Dream 11 team for a certain 200 points in the game. Bairstow and Pant are good wicket-keeping options to have in your team. Delhi Capitals have Rabada in their team, someone who invites batsmen to edge the ball to the wicket-keeper. At least 2 catches are almost certain for Pant which gets him a sure shot 16 points in the game.

Rabada is the highest wicket-taker at the moment and opting him out from your Dream11 team would be madness. Rashid Khan started the IPL on a low but has now come at his best earning more than 30 points in the last 3 games. Nortje should be given preference ahead of Natarajan as he seems to have been found out by the batsmen. Holder has been immense for SRH ever since he has come into the team. Not only is he a starter in the Dream 11 team but also a good captain material. Ashwin and Khaleel can also be put into the team if you’re feeling a little audacious. These two are always a hit or miss. They could get you more than 50 points but are also known to get less than 10 points in some games.

Captain/ Vice Captain

Captain and Vice-captain selection could potentially win you games on their own. Only those players that could get more runs or get more than 3 wickets should be selected as captains and vice-captains. Although theoretically, all-rounders should get the most number of points it is not the case in reality. All-rounders do not get many balls to play since they come at 5 or after. They are also not specialist bowlers which means they don’t get many wickets either. This is why batsmen and bowlers usually get the highest number of points in every match.

Openers Dhawan and Warner are known to score big runs consistently. Bairstow could also come out and score big runs as he has done in the past. This makes him a good candidate for captaincy as well. Holder has come and changed the whole complexion of the SRH team. He has earned 91 and 59 points respectively in the two games that he has played so far. That too without scoring any runs, which he is also capable of.

Wildcard

Rahane has not been very good so far in this year’s IPL. This is why he isn’t selected by many players in Dream11. He, however, has been selected in the Indian ODI team for Australia something that is bound to boost his confidence. Only 15-35% of players select him in the Dream11, which means he could be a point booster if plays well and is selected in the Dream 11 team.
