IPL 2020: Match 48 MI vs RCB – Dream 11 Prediction

IPL is now running towards its culmination. Less than 10 games are to be played in the group stages now next of which is the game between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Here we look at both the teams and try to predict the best Dream 11 team for today’s game.

Mumbai Indians (WWLWL)

Mumbai Indians are the most successful franchise in the IPL. They have won the coveted trophy 4 times and have always dominated the points table. It looked like this year would be a little different and they would too suffer a similar fate as Chennai Super Kings, but they had other plans. After few hiccups, in the beginning, Mumbai Indians have now emerged as the most balanced team of the whole tournament. They have used just 13 players so far proving that they do not need to alter the winning eleven. They are currently the table toppers with 7 wins in 11 games.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (WLWWL)

Royal Challengers Bangalore have suffered so much that they have now become immune. There was no expectation from them at the start of this year’s IPL. Everyone expected them to suffer due to a bad bowling attack and a weak middle order, but the result so far has been quite different. They currently occupy 3rd position with 7 wins in 11 games. They have the same points, 14, as Mumbai Indians.

Dream 11 Prediction

De Cock has been immense for the Mumbai Indians since the day he signed for them. He has amassed 642 points on Dream 11 and is included in the Dream Team in almost every match. Similarly important if not more is ABD for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He consistently wins games for the Bangalore outfit single-handedly. He has gotten himself 529 points so far and is a sure shot points earner for Dream 11 players. Ishan Kishan looked like has run out of gas in the later stages of the tournament with a series of bad performances after his explosive start, but a score of 68 and 37 in the last two games means he’s back in form. Kohli and Paddikal have been playing well consistently and should be included in the Dream11 team without much thought. Surya Kumar Yadav has been again overlooked by the BCCI selection committee in favour of Manish Pandey despite being among the best Indian batsmen in the IPL at the moment. He has more points than the likes of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. He would be fuming at the decision and would certainly continue playing well if not better to make a statement. The trio of Bumrah, Boult, and Pattinson could all be selected in your Dream 11 team such is their consistency. Chahal is another such bowler from the opposing team that gets points consistently. Washington Sunder has been bowling really well and is the reason why other bowlers could get wickets. He makes it incredibly difficult to make runs in his overs. This could earn him some wickets as well against MI. Rupak Chahar is also a well-balanced spinner and could be taken a risk on.

Captain / Vice Captain

De Cock comes as an opener and scores consistently. In a fairly big ground, he could get some good runs in the powerplay, something that batsmen who come later could find difficult to do. Paddikal is also a consistent scorer and should be a safe option for the vice-captain. Any bowler from Bumrah, Boult, and Pattinson could be made the captain or the vice-captain as these three are consistent points earners in the Dream 11.

Wildcard

SKY (Surya Kumar Yadav) would be playing for proving the selectors wrong. He could potentially ruin his match with anger but there is also a very high chance of him grabbing the game by the scruff of its neck. Dream 11 players could take chances on him. Pattinson, Tiwari, and Chahar are very good points earners that are chosen by very few Dream 11 players (15-30% as opposed to 70-80% for other players), these 3 players could be used as wildcards to gain an advantage over other DReam 11 players.
