She-Hulk, one of the innumerable characters from the Marvel universe got her screen time in a new comedy-superhero genre. The show has gotten good reviews with people finding it a good watch. There are however many (mostly fans of Hulk) who are disgusted by the idea of women playing a masculine character.

Whatever the reaction to the show be, it is clear that the new superhero is generating waves on social media. Before we look at the tweets and reactions to this Marvel character, let’s look at her history.

The character first starred in the comics in the 1980s and has been a regular since then. She has however never been incorporated into a live-action movie. The shy and mild-mannered Jennifer Walters is Bruce Banner’s cousin. She got Hulk’s powers when Bruce saved her life by donating his blood. After being seriously injured by a crime boss, Jennifer needed blood infusion which is when Bruce stepped up and gave her his blood.

She-Hulk however is drastically different from Hulk when it comes to controlling her rage. So different that she does not need to be angry to turn into her strong alter ego. She does not need to be two different people, she is Jennifer and She-Hulk at the same time.

She maintains control of her emotions and intellect all the time, unlike Hulk who has to lose intellect and emotion when gaining super strength. In the comics she also has training in combat from teachers like Captain America and Gamora, making her a very strong character in the Marvel universe.

Her most impressive power however is that she could break the fourth wall and talk directly to the viewer like Deadpool does so often. The newest hero from She-Hulk: Attorney at Law however has lost this power.
