MT-15 Rider cheats fate, narrowly escapes falling from flyover in Surat

A heart-stopping moment was captured on a dashcam on Surat Ring Road when a motorcycle rider narrowly escaped a potentially fatal accident. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with reckless driving on Indian roads, not only endangering the lives of the riders themselves but also posing a threat to others.

The hair-raising incident involved a Yamaha MT-15 rider who was navigating the Surat Ring Road on a bright day. As the dashcam footage reveals, the rider decided to overtake a car from the left side, which set the stage for a terrifying sequence of events.

The road took a sharp left turn, and the rider, presumably carrying excessive speed, found himself unable to negotiate the bend safely. As he attempted to make the turn, he collided with the right side of the flyover’s railing, teetering perilously close to being thrown over the edge. Miraculously, he managed to regain his balance and fell back onto the road. His Yamaha MT-15, however, continued its trajectory for a few more meters before coming to a halt.

In the same video, toward the end of the clip, it appeared that the car equipped with the dashcam also fell victim to a collision from behind by an unidentified vehicle. This additional incident further emphasises the unpredictability and dangers of Indian roadways.

The incident underscores the importance of responsible and cautious driving, particularly among young riders who are often seen flouting traffic rules and engaging in reckless behavior. Such actions not only jeopardize their own safety but also put other road users at risk.

While the Yamaha MT-15 rider in this incident was fortunate to escape without serious injury, the video serves as a chilling reminder of the inherent risks that accompany irresponsible driving. It is a collective responsibility for all road users to prioritize safety and reduce the likelihood of such terrifying close calls on India’s busy roads.
